Tailhade Golf Cup 2010, Los Lagartos Golf, Buenos Aires

Considered one of the TOP International Amateurs Competitions, the Tailhade Cup was established by Los Lagartos Country Club 38 years ago, later on the Argentine Golf Asocioation joined as organizer. The historically leaders are England and Australia with four victories each, followed by Argentina, Holland and South Africa (past winner), totaling two.

Norway, Colombia, Peru, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Canada, South Africa, England, Finland, Portugal, Australia, Uruguay, Mexico, New Zealand and Argentina are the countries that will challenge the Lagartos Golf Course from Thursday 11th to Sunday 14th.

The Tailhade Cup is played one week before the Argentine Amateur Championship, this year hosted by Highland Park CC. Considering that the World Amateur Team Championship ended only 10 days ago, Buenos Aires is considered these days as the capital city of the Amateur Golf Worldwide.

Just to have an idea of the importance of this tournament, these are some of the players that visited Lagartos as amateurs for the Tailhade Cup: Aaron Baddeley, Edoardo Molinari, Adam Scott, Estanilao Goya, Gonzalo Fernandez Castaño, Trevor Immelman, Chris Wood, Alvaro Quiros and Rafa Echenique among many others.

On this edition, Argentina will be represented by two of the Junior Champion team players in Japan in 2009: Thomas is Cocha and Jorge Fernandez Valdes. With these two excellent players Argentina will try to repeat the wins obtained in in 1996 and 2004.
