Golf World Amateur Team Championships continue in Buenos Aires with the Men competing for the EISENHOWER TROPHY
On Sunday the 70 teams started practicing in both Buenos Aires Golf Club and Olivos Golf Club expecting to get to Sunday with a chance to win the Eisenhower Trophy, while Scotland will defend the title with three great players like Michael Stewart, Ross Kellett and James Byrne.
Argentine team led by Michael Leeson aim to improve the fifth place obtained in 1958 and 1972 (also playing as host), their best performances in the history of the WATC. Emiliano Grillo, Jorge Fernandez Valdes and Tomas Cocha represent Argentina’s Golf Association, co-hosting the event with the International Golf Federation.
Today Tuesday 6:00pm. at the Olivos Golf Club was held the Opening Ceremony of the World Amateur Team Championship, presenting the Eisenhower Trophy which will crown a new champion this Sunday. Althoug the USA appear to be the most favorite, Sweden, Scotland, France, South Africa, Australia and Argentina, emerge as serious rivals.
